Sao Paulo is Brazil's biggest city. It's a massive mix of very interesting chaos: loads of people, ridiculous traffic jams, pollution, poverty, wealth, crime, moviment, noise, shopping centres, street vendors, vibrant 24 hour life, amazing culture, awesome nightlife, fantastic food. Basically a place where you can never feel bored! It's my hometown, and I love and miss it, even though I must say it's not hard to hate Sao Paulo at times, and people complain it's too grey... It's true, it is grey, and this was the main colour pattern for this painting. Someone told me it looks like grafitti, and it might, which would suit Sao Paulo just as well. This one is definitely inspired by Brazil, but nonetheless with dots inspired by Australia.
"Sao Paulo", original oil dot painting by Flavia Julius.
Stretched canvas with thick sides, painted silver to match the artwork.
