Sao Paulo and Rio have their sambodromes, built especially for the Carnival Parade. Each samba school has a limited time to tell a story, as their members sing, dance, display their costumes with pride and, most importantly, explode in pure exhilaration. It´s been said that Carnival in Rio is the "biggest show on Earth": it´s extravagant, intense, vibrant, crazy, hypnotic and has a strong community feel. I wish I could always be in Brazil for Carnival: while this is not often possible, there's always a "Samba Avenue". Inspired by Brazil, inspired by Australia.
"Samba Avenue", original oil dot painting by Flavia Julius.
Stretched canvas with thick sides, painted purple to match the artwork.
Size: 60x50 cm.
