I was in Sydney in year 2000 (this is before this city became home for me, 12 years ago), and remember one night ending up in Darling Harbour with a friend, totally by chance. There was this festival happening there, with Latin music, and I couldn´t believe my luck!! It was the first ever Ritmo Brazilian Day, and the festival has been taking place every year since then, except for 2016.
This year, for the first time Ritmo had a Cultural Village, with a combination of art, products made of recycled material and other social minded businesses. It was a great space to exhibit my paintings, so many fabulous people came to say hello.
Brazilian singer Salgadinho, who came all the way from Brazil, closed the night. Salgadinho was quite famous in the nineties, when I was still living in São Paulo, where he´s also from. I remembered all the songs, we all danced samba, the moon was shining...;)
Hope to be there at Ritmo 2018, thanks Bracca (Brazilian Community Council of Australia) for organizing it and for inviting me to be part of the Brazilian Day!! Obrigada!!! :)
